Jamaica Mission Trip 2026
Surveying the Land for the Work Ahead
In February 2026, our team travelled to Jamaica on a mission trip following the devastating hurricane that impacted many communities across the island. We were commissioned to witness the damage firsthand, assess the needs, and discover where support would have the greatest impact.
What began as a fact-finding mission quickly became a journey of hope, inspiration, and purpose.
During our visit, we met with three incredible organisations dedicated to serving vulnerable communities. One of the most memorable visits was to a children's home nestled high in the hills. The journey to reach it was well worth every step. It is a place that will forever be engraved in our hearts, and we are eager to return and offer practical support.
One conversation with the home's supervisor deeply impacted us. He shared his vision for the children in his care, and his words have stayed with us ever since — a reminder of why this work matters so deeply.
"I want the very best for these children. Just because they come from homes where there was little, or places where they experienced rejection and neglect, does not mean they should come to a place that reflects those experiences."
His mission is to break the cycle of poverty — not only financially, but also in mindset, character, and self-worth. He intentionally creates an environment where the children experience dignity, safety, and love. Their rooms, living spaces, and daily surroundings reflect a powerful message: You are valuable. You matter. You are loved.
The children's home serves as a place of refuge where every child can sleep in peace and wake up surrounded by an atmosphere that affirms their worth and potential.
Throughout the trip, we also met many remarkable people, including a special needs organisation that is doing life-changing work in the community. Through Missionary Maria — a woman with a heart of gold — we were introduced to this ministry. Maria has faithfully served alongside this organisation for many years and has played a significant role in raising awareness and support for its important work.
As we travelled across Jamaica, we were reminded of the biblical story of Joshua and Caleb, who surveyed the Promised Land before entering it. In many ways, this mission trip felt like our own opportunity to "survey the land" and prepare for what God has ahead.
We are now preparing to return with a larger team, ready to move from observation to action. Our desire is not simply to speak about helping, but to demonstrate God's love through practical service. We believe we are called to be God's hands and feet, bringing hope, restoration, and encouragement wherever He leads.
Every volunteer who joins our mission teams undergoes approximately one year of training. This preparation ensures that each team member develops the right mindset, conduct, character, and understanding of what it means to serve effectively in missions.
This is only the beginning.
