Joshua Project

Harvest Worship Center International has contributed to supporting the Joshua Project Drop-in Centre, led by missionary Jenny Virginia. The Joshua Project provides education, mentorship, care, and discipleship to street-connected children. Our financial contribution of €100 was raised through voluntary donations and directed towards supporting educational materials, daily meals, and mentoring programs.

This contribution fulfills part of our organizational goal: to collaborate with individuals and organizations in similar fields to maximize impact and bring lasting change.

About Joshua Project

Since 1998, the Joshua Project has served as a safe haven for vulnerable children and youth living on the streets of Jeffreys Bay, South Africa. In 2017, a branch was established in Humansdorp to respond to the urgent needs of children living and working on the local dumpsite.

The name Joshua means "God saves," reminding us that only God can truly save the children in these communities. The Joshua Project offers a place of refuge where children experience acceptance, support, and love in a safe, caring environment provided by passionate individuals who believe these children deserve hope for a better future.

Focus and Impact

The Joshua Project in Humansdorp aims to make God's love visible to an extremely vulnerable group of children living in harsh conditions. The team is committed to restoring their self-respect, increasing their skills, and improving their future prospects through:

Through consistent relationships, education, and skills training, the project helps children discover their unique talents and grow into healthy, responsible adults with a strong self-image and hope for the future. The team has successfully enrolled children in school and supported them to prevent dropouts. Strong relationships have also been built with the children's families, local churches, and other organizations in Humansdorp.

This collaboration was also part of our goal: to work alongside other individuals and organizations in the same or similar fields, strengthening the impact through shared efforts and united purpose.

Challenges and Expansion

While there have been many successes, there have also been painful losses; some boys have been lost to gangsterism and illness. Even in these moments, God's presence is experienced through the comfort of His Spirit.
